Enclave defined by a palimpsestuous process, the Mercato district has the possibility to be a linking element within the metropolis.
The ambition of the project is to house a hotel and sports services. As such, it condenses as an autonomous object within a new parc for the area.
The sport base interacts as an open entity with the immediate surroundings, whereas the hotel height is the result of careful evaluation of the distant territory, providing a signal to the city. The yellow sun-breakers, referring to both domestic and industrial napolitan buildings, allow the tower to function as a gateway to Porta Nolana train station.
Instability is generated within the repetitive concrete frame by the need of a long span for the sporthall. In this process, the hotel tower counterbalances the gymnasium: the hotel behaves as a pinnacle to the public equipment.
