In the history of cities, the financial buildings have always occupied a central place because they are considered as centres for economic and information exchanges essential to the functioning of societies. Faced with this representation of power and wealth, the public nature of this institution has always implied a symbolic and practical link between the condition of each citizen and the sovereignty of the State.
This architecture proposes here to reinterpret this relationship according to a strong urban approach able to develop its own contemporary writing without ignoring the history of the surrounding heritage. The new reading of the type of courtyard building in the form of an atrium associated with an architectural language advocating transparency seems to be the necessary devices to respond to the problems of such an institutional building in the contemporary city.
